Eugenie of York and Jack Brooksbank, new life between Portugal and Kensington Palace

Time for (nice) news for Eugenie of York and her husband Jack Brooksbank. After seeing them happier than ever at the celebrations for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, a few more details emerged about their near future, especially in relation to the move to Portugal of which there had been rumors for a few days.

Jack, in fact, got a job assignment at the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Cluba luxury resort about an hour south of Lisbon, and this will lead him to spend a lot of time away from the UK, but not without his wife and son August, who according to rumors will follow him away.

No radical changes, at least for the moment. Eugenie is very happy to work for the London art gallery Hauser & Wirth and she has no intention of giving up her work. Unlike what the British tabloids had speculated at first, however, the two will no longer lean on Frogmore Cottage when they return to their homeland. The Windsor residence that Queen Elizabeth gave to Harry and Meghan on the occasion of their wedding and which after the Sussex move to California has always been home to the Brooksbank family will be left permanently.

Eugenie and Jack, in fact, will be based in London Kensington Palace; the precise address is that of Nottingham Cottage, where Prince Harry lived as a bachelor and where he spent his first months married to Meghan Markle. ‘Nott Cott’, as the house is called by members of the Windsor family, is among the smallest in the Kensington complex: two bedrooms, a lounge, a kitchen, a bathroom and a small garden. Several of the royals who have occupied the cottage over the years, including William and Kate, who lived here a few months after the birth of their eldest son George, awaiting Apartment 1 A, twenty rooms on four floors and spectacular views over Hyde. Park, was refurbished.

Eugenie and Jack have already lived in Kensington. Before the wedding the couple occupied the Ivy Cottage, like Nottingham not particularly large but perfect for a couple. With the arrival of little Augie, who celebrated his first birthday last February, the needs have changed and an extra room has become vital. Who knows if Frogmore will remain empty for a long time. Harry and Meghan certainly have no intention of returning to live in and around London, not even for short periods.
