European countries recall Iranian ambassadors after attack on Israel

Germany, France and Belgium recalled their Iranian ambassadors this Monday (15), as European nations continue to strongly condemn Iran's attack on Israel over the weekend.

Belgium chose to recall its Iranian ambassador, Seyed Mohammad Ali Robatjazi, according to a statement from the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The authorities took advantage of the visit to convey to the ambassador their “strong condemnation of Iran’s attack on Israel,” the statement added.

Iran's ambassador was summoned to hear France “strongly condemn” Tehran's attack on Israel, the French Foreign Ministry said in a statement. Following the attack, Iran “now runs the risk of an escalation in which no one has any interest”, warned France, calling on the regime to “immediately cease” its provocations.

Finally, the German government summoned the Iranian ambassador to Berlin, a Federal Foreign Ministry spokesman said at a press conference.

All this happened after the Iranian government summoned the German, British and French ambassadors to Tehran on Sunday (14), according to the Iranian state news agency Tasnim.

According to the Tasnim report, the three ambassadors were recalled due to the “irresponsible stances” they took in response to Iran’s attack on Israel.
