The European certificate formally implemented on July 1, 2021. “The EU Digital Certificate Regulation for COVID will be valid for 12 months from 1 July 2021. The Commission will report to the European Parliament and the Council three months before the regulation expires. “Together with this report, the Commission could propose the extension of the COVID certificate, if necessary, taking into account the evolution of the epidemiological situation in the pandemic,” the Commission said in a statement when the certificate entered into force.
