Sweden’s Green MEP and former minister Alice Ba Kunke will run next week for Italy’s David Sassoli to take over the presidency from the conservative Maltese Roberta Metzola, who .
“We are fighting for a feminist, sustainable and democratic Europe and we call on all MEPs to support these principles,” said Ba Kunke, a 50-year-old MEP from 2019 and vice-chair of the Greens parliamentary group.
Before appearing in politics, she was the Minister of Culture and Democracy in Sweden from 2014 to 2019.
He will face Roberta Metzola (European People’s Party, right), Spain’s Sira Rego (Left, Radical Left) and Polish Kosma Zlotowski (European Conservatives and Reformists – ECR, Eurosceptic) , Tuesday.
