European Union in Trump: “Let us reset the duties now and in the future we go to trade agreement”

Friedrich Mertz and Ursula von der Laien have asked Donald Trump to reset the tariffs in the European Union and in the future are discussing to sign a new trade agreement. Friedrich Mertz clarified that an agreement with the US on duties cannot be allegedly aligned with EU countries, but as a whole, as Union member states are governed by common commercial rules, Reuters wrote. “I congratulated the US president on the agreement that reached the United Kingdom yesterday,” Mertz initially stressed at a joint press conference with European Council President Antonio Costa during a tour of Brussels on Friday. “This is a good way forward,” added Germanas Kageklarios, sending a message to the other side of the Atlantic in Washington.
