The European Union Agency for Cooperation in Law Enforcement (Europol) has launched an operation to seize the resources of individuals, institutions and companies in Russia facing EU sanctions over the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The Hague-based Europol will carry out Operation Oscar in cooperation with the national authorities of the Member States, the European Union Agency for Cooperation in Criminal Justice (Eurojust) and the European Border and Coast Guard (FRONTEX).
The company will contribute to the search for the resources of the targeted persons and to prosecute in cases where the sanctions are circumvented. It will last for a year and has several distinct aspects, Europol said in a press release.
