Annual inflation in the eurozone is expected to decline to 1.9% in May 2025, from 2.2% in April, according to a preliminary estimate by the European Statistical Service, Eurostat, released today. Looking at the main components of inflation in the eurozone, food, alcohol and tobacco are expected to have the highest annual rate in May (3.3%, compared to 3%in April), followed by services (3.2%, compared to 4%in April), (-3.6%, fixed compared to April). In Greece it is estimated that inflation will increase to 3.3% in May, from 2.6% in April. In May, the highest levels of inflation in the eurozone were recorded by Estonia (4.6%), Slovakia and Croatia (4.3%), Latvia (3.7%) and Greece (3.3%).
