Greece recorded the largest annual GDP growth in the eurozone in the third quarter of 2021 (+ 13.4%), according to Eurostat data released today.
In the third quarter of 2021 GDP on an annual basis increased by 3.9% in the euro area and by 4.1% in the EU, after an increase of 14.4% in the euro area and 13.8% in the EU in the second quarter of 2021.
Compared to the previous quarter, seasonally adjusted GDP increased in the third quarter of 2021 by 2.2% in the euro area and by 2.1% in the EU. In Greece, GDP increased by 2.7%.
The largest increase in GDP, compared to the previous quarter, was recorded by Austria (+ 3.8%), France (+3) and Portugal (+ 2.9%). The lowest growth rates were observed in Romania and Slovakia (+ 0.4%), while GDP remained stable in Lithuania (0%).
