Eurovision Song Contest 2022, Gigliola Cinquetti guest of the final in Turin

It was March 21, 1964 and Gigliola Cinquetti was just sixteen. With I’m not old enough at the Tivolis Koncertsal in Copenhagen the singer won theEurovision Song Contest. And now, almost 60 years later, she returns to the stage of the competition, but this time as a super host of the final. The announcement of the TG1 comes after the revelations about the other guests, Diodato and Il Volo.

The 2022 edition, from 10 to 14 May at the Pala Olimpico in Turin, is conducted by Laura Pausini, Mika and Alessandro Cattelan and sees Mamhood and Blanco compete for Italy with Chills after the victory at Sanremo Festivalwhile Achille Lauro competes for San Marino.

Gigliola Cinquetti co-hosted Eurovision from Rome in 1991 and now he relives those emotions, for which, on the microphones of the news, he explains that he is “grateful to life”. The event will have peace as its themewill be commented by Gabriele Corsi and Cristiano Malgioglio and will see the participation of 40 countries (Russia is excluded due to the ongoing war with Ukraine).
