Ev. Liakoulis: ‘Mr Mitsotakis believes in two ‘democracies’, the one he describes to Congress and the one he imposes on Greece

In the Plenary Session of the Parliament, during the debate on the proposal submitted by PASOK-Movement for Change for the establishment of a commission of inquiry regarding the violation of the confidentiality of the communications of President Nikos Androulakis, the Secretary of K.O. of PASOK-Movement for Change and Member of Parliament for Larissa, Evangelia Liakoulis, pointing out the following:

“The fact that today, in the Plenary Session of the Greek Parliament, we are discussing the establishment of a Commission of Inquiry for the monitoring of the President of PASOK and MEP Nikos Androulakis by the EYP and by Predator, is a deep wound for our State system and the rule of law. It is a defeat for the country, for the institutions, for progress.

It is a decisive blow to the soft underbelly of Democracy, which, wounded and ragged, once again wanders among us and wonders: Why so much hypocrisy, so much disrespect, so much immorality, so much enmity, division and hatred, at the altar of obsessive power and immeasurable arrogance of the goverment ;

As Clapp mentions in the New York Times, it is precisely this same Democracy, for which the Prime Minister, just in May, bluntly analyzed its meaning in the American Congress, emphasizing for 40 minutes, “the necessity of social trust and strong institutions”, even invoking the ancients.

And we, who even then, did not remain small-minded, but referred to the moment of Mr. Mitsotakis in the Congress with a national symbol, now, when the gloss is gone for good and the words have proven to be hollow, we ask the Prime Minister and the Government:

– Why did they destroy the Democracy, humiliate the institutions, poison the place and divide the citizens?
– Why, after such great adventures for the people and the country, after so many sacrifices, after such a difficult everyday life for many, instead of forging political and social peace, uniting, recreating the Greece of the future, of open horizons and great prospects, choose to target their opponents, to make them hostage, not with political arguments and fruitful confrontation of public dialogue, but with dark methods?
– Why did they specifically choose to politically and morally level Nikos Androulakis, a young and ambitious political leader, who knows the international facts, who has studied the European ones in depth, when they, for all the major issues of the country, are complexly reported “generally and vaguely”, while he speaks simply “specifically and specifically”, asking for answers which they never give?

Nikos Androulakis comes from the future and has nothing to do with the ND Government. Neither his name reminds anything of the past, nor is he the son of a firebrand, nobody gave him anything, nor did he ever make political divisions. He fights with principles and values, in the arena of politics and life.

Now no one is suspicious of the Government, nor believes a word of what it says, but mainly of what it does not say.

They undermined the Democracy, committed illegal acts and performed them with actions and omissions, condemnable both by law and morality. The very track record of Nikos Androulakis proves it.

However, according to our ancients, whom Mr. Mitsotakis often invokes, life could never go on after a crime without redemption through purification.

Everything in the light, without contradictions, excuses and an unprecedented insult to the intelligence of citizens.

It’s now a one-way street and it will go all the way!”
