Eve announces partnership with Skyway for urban air traffic management

Eve, a “flying car” startup controlled by Embraer signed a letter of intent with Skyway, a California-based provider of navigation services for autonomous aircraft, to be its provider of urban air traffic management (UATM) software.

According to the Brazilian company, the partnership “seeks to ensure that traffic management for future urban air mobility (UAM) operations meets the needs and growth of the industry”.

According to Skyway CEO Clifford Cruz, integrating Eve’s UATM solution with air traffic operations services for “vertiports” – the site for the operation of Skyway’s electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles (eVTOLs) – increases market support for flying car sales.

“This allows airline investments in this sector to create the foundations for the operations of these aircraft in vertiports that are being developed digitally. It is an important step forward in making urban air mobility a reality and we are excited about the great innovations to come.”

According to Eve, the company’s UATM software is a solution that will allow the integration of all airspace users into the urban environment. “This new partnership reinforces Eve and Skyway’s commitment to securely integrate and scale global UAM operations,” says Eve.
