Everyone is silent about the tripartite talks between the SPD, the Greens and the FDP in Germany

The first ones have already started in Berlin tripartite talks between the Social Democrats (SPD), the Liberals (FDP) and the Greens to form a coalition. Most participants are practically silent or just silent.

Greens co-chair Robert Habek limited himself to the following statement: “Every day is always special, it makes the days so beautiful.”

SPD co-chair Norbert Walter-Bourgeois was a little more talkative, while Chancellor-designate Olaf Soltz was much more sparing.

All three parties had assured that the issue now was to build trust. This is achieved by maintaining confidentiality. For journalists this means: there is almost no information.

First tripartite SPD, Greens and FDP after the federal elections

Is the first tripartite meeting of the SPD, the Greens and the FDP after the federal elections – all previous talks, including those with the participation of the Christian Democrats and the Christian Socialists, took place between two parties.

The candidate for chancellor of the SPD Olaf Solts, who arrived first at the CityCube Berlin showroom, where the three meet before 8 a.m., said good morning, but nothing more, and disappeared into the building, according to the Athens News Agency.

Greens co-chair Alena Berbock, speaking to Greenpeace activists who had gathered in front of the showroom where their conversations took place, assured that “the climate will definitely be an issue” today. The leader of the Greens’ parliamentary group, Anton Hoffreiter, when asked what is most important to him today, replied: “Everything”.

Liberal leader Christian Lindner, who arrived last, also picked up a Greenpeace leaflet, saluted in all directions, and disappeared behind the glass door.

Only SPD co-chair Norbert Walter-Bourgeois was a little more talkative. “I have a good feeling that we have common beliefs, that we want to push the country forward. And now we have to look at the various issues one by one and then we will see. “

Since the meetings have so far been called “preliminary exploratory”, it would be natural to talk about “exploratory” now, but the talks are not yet characterized as such. First of all, it should be clarified whether there will be exploratory and then the real exploratory talks for the formation of a government will begin.
