«Everyone is wonderful»: the Lego set arrives to celebrate the LGBT community

Is called “Everyone is wonderful” the new Lego set designed «to celebrate the diversity between Lego fans and the world around us». This is an exhibition model inspired by the rainbow flag, a symbol of love for the LGBTQIA + community: it consists of 11 monochromatic mini figures, each with their own hairstyle and a rainbow color.

«I wanted to create a model that symbolized inclusion and celebrate everyone, no matter how they identify or who they love, ”explained production designer Matthew Ashton, vice president of design for the Lego group.

“Everyone is unique, and with a little more love, acceptance and understanding in the world, we can all feel freer to be the wonderful ourselves. This model shows that we care, and that we truly believe that we are all fantastic ».

The set, as Ashton added, also wants to be a celebration of the Lgbtqia + community within the Lego group: “I am fortunate to be part of a proud, supportive and passionate community of colleagues and fans,” he said. “We share a love of creativity and self-expression through the bricks, and this set is a way to show my gratitude for all the love and inspiration that is constantly shared.”

The set consists of 346 pieces, is 10.24cm high and has a depth of 12.80: it can be easily displayed on most shelves or window sills. It will go on sale from the first day of June, just to mark the beginning of month of pride, and will be available on Lego.com and in Lego stores (the recommended price is € 34.99).

«The group», the company says, «is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, thanks to the collaboration with Workplace Pride, Stonewall e Open for Business, to help define strategies and programs to support employees who identify themselves as LGBTQIA +, and allies throughout the company ».
