“Everyone was sick of me,” reveals Jennifer Lawrence after distancing herself from the media

Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she is “nervous” about returning to the spotlight after taking a step back when she felt “everyone had gotten sick” of her.

The revelation was made for December’s “Vanity Fair” magazine, which Lawrence is on the cover. In the story, the actress tackles the challenges of fame, a near-death experience, the trauma of having intimate photos leaked online, and the gender pay gap.

Pregnant with her first child with her husband, businessman Cooke Maroney, the actress returns to the screen next month with the new film “No Look Up”, from Netflix. “I’m so nervous… It’s been a while since I spoke to the world. And I’ll be back now, with these ‘new accessories’ added to my life that I obviously want to protect.”

In the interview, she also talks about the films she worked on before leaving the media, including “Passengers”, “Mother!”, “Red Sparrow” and “Black Phoenix”.

“I wasn’t managing to deliver the quality that I should have,” he revealed. “I just think everyone got sick of me. I got sick of myself.”

The actress began to think that she couldn’t do anything right. “If I walked on the red carpet, it was like, ‘Why didn’t she run?’… I think I’ve been too much for people for most of my life,” he snapped.

Now Lawrence is pregnant, and although she refused to talk about how it feels to be a mother, she shared that she wants to protect her child as much as she can.

“Every instinct in my body wants to protect this child’s privacy, for the rest of his life, as much as I can. And I feel that this will only happen if I don’t include him in this part of my work”.

In 2014, a hacker leaked nude photos of the actress and other female celebrities, and she took the opportunity to talk about the impact this had on her. “Anyone can look at my naked body without my consent, at any time of day,” he said. “Someone in France has just published them. My trauma will exist forever.”

Another revelation was about an emergency landing that the private plane he was traveling on had to make after both engines failed in 2017.

“Flying is horrible and I have to do it all the time,” said she, who had to leave “little mental voicemails” for her family as the plane flew toward the ground.

Lawrence, previously named the highest paid actress in the world, also mentioned the salary discrepancy between her and her “Don’t Look Up” partner, Leonardo DiCaprio.

“Look, Leo brings more box office than me. I am extremely happy and satisfied with my contract. But in other situations, what I’ve seen – and I’m sure other women have seen it too – is that it’s extremely uncomfortable to ask about equal pay,” she said. “And if you question something that looks unequal, they say it’s not gender disparity, but they can’t reveal exactly what it is.”
