“Everything is possible” in Russia and Ukraine, says France

The situation on the Ukrainian border smells like gunpowder. “Everything is possible” as to what will happen next on Ukraine’s border, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said today.

“Everything is possible, and a massive invasion of Russian forces on Ukrainian territory and the diplomatic talks we have been asking for a long time.”Lentrian told LCI television.

Lendrian wondered if the announced Russian troop withdrawals were close to Ukraine, is a real withdrawal or just an “exchange” of troops. “I personally prefer, beyond the words, the facts and I hope we can see that this is not about changes but about departure,” he said.

At the same time, Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Alvarez said Russia should begin de-escalating the crisis on the Ukrainian border as NATO and the European Union pose no threat, according to international news agencies and the Athenian News Agency.

“Neither NATO nor the EU has a hidden agenda or hidden interests or anything that can not be explained,” Alvarez told Onda Cero radio station. “War can be completely avoided and it is unnecessary.”
