Everything we know about the 2021 Oscars

The Oscar They should have been held in February, in the space then occupied by the Golden Globes, but the need to reorganize the ceremony to allow the major to recover part of the time taken away from them by the Coronavirus produced a considerable delay. The Academy Awards, postponed for the fourth time in history, will be held in spring, next April 25th, in ways that are not yet clear. The Oscar jury explained that they did not want to give up an in-person ceremony. This decision could translate into one multiplicity of locations and direct.

To respect the social distances intended by health protocols, the Oscars could have one main ceremony, set up as usual at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, and small, other collateral ceremonies, held in New York, Europe, Asia. “The safety and health of the participants are the first concern and will dictate what will happen on April 25,” explained a spokesman for the Academy, confirming the thesis of more direct, organized in as many cities. Who will conduct the differentiated appointments, however, is not known.

The clearest hypothesis is that the Oscars may have for themselves the usual alternation of VIPs, each called to describe a category. The nominations will then be announced on March 15, but the shortlists, released at the beginning of February, allowed some initial predictions.

The Oscars, second Variety, Deadline e The Hollywood Reporter, should substantially confirm what the Golden Globes decided, assigning prizes to Sacha Baron Cohen, Chloé Zhao and Chadwick Boseman, and allowing the public to find a part of normality. Something that will allow him to enjoy a ceremony as similar as possible to the many past.
