Evo’s party says shooters entered barracks after attack

The party of former Bolivian president Evo Morales stated that the perpetrators of the shooting attack against the indigenous leader, this Sunday morning (27), entered an Armed Forces barracks after the alleged attack and got into a helicopter.

“According to witnesses of the events, the cars transporting the agents who perpetrated the attack against Evo Morales later entered the military barracks and then a helicopter that was waiting for them on the landing strip”, says the statement from the Movement for Socialism (MAS) acronym. .

According to the party, the attack took place in front of the military barracks of the 9th division of the Bolivian Armed Forces. The people who shot at the car were, according to Evo and the acronym, dressed in black and with long weapons.

The former president claims that he was traveling in two vehicles when he was intercepted. One of the vehicles was hit with 14 shots, and the other with four, according to him. In the video posted by Morales online, it is possible to see the windshield hit by at least three shots and the rear window impacted and shattered.

According to the MAS statement, the driver, who appears in the video bleeding, was hit by a bullet in the head and by a bullet in the arm.

MAS holds President Luis Arce and two of his ministers responsible for the attack. The Bolivian government stated that the episode will be investigated and stated that there is no arrest warrant for Morales.
