The boyfriend of the 23-year-old woman who threw caustic soda His ex-girlfriend was named as the mastermind behind the crime, according to the Public Ministry of Paraná (MPPR). The man was included as a defendant in the case that accuses the woman of attempted murder.
The attack took place in Jacarezinho, in the northern Pioneiro region of Paraná, on May 22 of this year. The victim was attacked by surprise with the corrosive substance when she was going to the gym. Young Isabelly Ferreira was discharged 18 days after the attack and suffered serious injuries.
Until then, the complaint argued that the woman’s defense was hampered by the action having been carried out for a futile reason (jealousy) and because it is considered cruel employment and femicide.
The investigation showed a turnaround in the case . Data extracted from the defendant’s cell phone showed that her partner, aged 28, planned the crime and that, despite having been in prison since February of this year, she convinced him to put the plan into action.
The 28-year-old man was charged with attempted qualified homicide. The Civil Police requested the preventive detention of the investigated and opened a new police investigation.
The audios stored on the device show that the man had “true control over the crime,” according to the ministry. The agency believes that the crime was motivated by feeling of possession that he had towards his ex-girlfriend and revenge for the end of the relationship . The woman acted out of jealousy and envy of the victim.
The man has previous convictions for crimes and was arrested for aggravated robbery involving a group of people and use of a bladed weapon: recently convicted in the first instance.

Upon arriving at the hospital, the Military Police (PM) contacted the institution’s professionals, who informed them that victim was intubated and had facial injuries in addition to lesions in the chest and mouth region, indicating a probable ingestion of the chemical component.
At the scene of the attack, the PM found a glass and a bag that were allegedly used in the crime. Security camera footage were also collected. The objects and images were forwarded to the Civil Police.
The young woman was sent to the Londrina University Hospital (UEL) and was discharged on May 9.
