Brazil registered a total positive exchange flow of US$ 4.988 billion in February, favored by the inflow of currency both through financial and commercial channels, after ending January with net inflows of US$ 4.169 billion, informed this Wednesday (8) the Central bank.
The most recent data are preliminary and are part of the statistics referring to the contracted exchange rate.
Through the financial channel, there were inflows of US$ 1.157 billion in February. Foreign direct and portfolio investments, profit remittances and interest payments, among other operations, are carried out through this channel.
Through the commercial channel, the February balance was positive at US$ 3.831 billion.
In March, until the 3rd, the exchange flow is positive at US$ 866 million. In the accumulated result for the year up to that date, Brazil registers a total positive exchange flow of US$ 10.024 billion.
