A small plane crashed in the municipality of Boituva, in the interior of São Paulo, this afternoon (11). According to information from the São Paulo Fire Department, 11 people were treated at the crash site and two victims who were in serious condition were transported to city hospitals. They died at Hospital São Luiz de Boituva, according to the city hall.

In total, 16 people were on board, 15 of whom were paratroopers and one pilot. The injured were taken to area hospitals.

Lula says he will not adopt a spending cap

Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) once again stated that he is against the spending ceiling that limits public spending and investments by the federal government. The statement was made during a meeting between PT and rectors at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (MG) and later reproduced on his social networks.

“There will be no spending cap in our government. Not that I’m going to be irresponsible, spend it to indebted the nation’s future. It is because we will have to spend what is necessary in the production of productive items, profitable items, and education is a profitable item. It is the thing that gives the fastest return so that we can produce. It is economic growth that will bring down spending in relation to GDP,” said Lula.
