This is a person with a tenure both in senior positions in organized retail, having previously been a member of the management of the Sklavenitis group, but also with management positions in the food industry, as CEO in companies such as Kraft Foods Hellas in the past, but also Upfield today.

This development comes after the departure, last February, of the brand president of AB Vassilopoulos, Vassilis Stavrou.

In the meantime, Sophocles Giannakou took over the presidency of AB Vassilopoulos, while Jesper Lauridsen, Brand President of AB, Albert and Brand Leader for the Central and Southern Europe (CSE) region, held the position of interim managing director.

The aim of this move was to take over the leadership as soon as possible, given that Jesper Lauridsen was based in the Czech Republic, as head of the subsidiary Albert, and his presence in Greece was limited to twice a month for his participation in the meeting. of the management team of the supermarket chain, while in many cases his participation in the activities of the chain was done through a video conference.

As we are informed, in the short list of the executive selection company, which was assigned by the Ahold-Delhaize group to find and evaluate a new CEO, were found two other top executives of the food market and the supermarkets.
