Exhibition “Uniting Voices Against Gender Violence” arrives in SP

The exhibition “Uniting Voices Against Gender Violence”, which brings together the work of 14 Israeli artists and which was created by the Israeli Federation of the State of São Paulo (Fisesp), will open this Tuesday (30), at 6pm , at Conjunto Nacional, in São Paulo.

On view until February 21st, the exhibition features 22 panels, as well as animation created by several Israeli artists, such as Geffen Rafaeli, Hagit Frenkel and Keren Shpilsher. The main theme explored is the terrorist act that occurred in Israel on October 7, when several members of Hamas attacked more than 1,200 people, including several women and girls who were victims of rape, many of whom are still kidnapped.

For its creators, the Exhibition highlights the importance of the global union of women in the fight to end gender-based violence and encourages reflection on the need to condemn crimes against humanity and hold their perpetrators accountable. “Holding this event is also a wake-up call to women's humanitarian organizations, many of which have been silent about the atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists. The world cannot turn a blind eye just because many of these women are Jewish or Israeli”, highlighted the president of the Israeli Federation of the State of São Paulo, Marcos Knobel.

Miriam Vasserman, vice-president of the Israeli Federation of the State of São Paulo (Fisesp) and director of the Women's Empowerment and Leadership Group, points out that “we need to draw attention to the use of women's bodies as an instrument of war. It is a crime against all humanity. The world cannot remain silent.”

The exhibition runs from January 30th to February 21st – from Monday to Saturday from 6am to 10pm and on Sundays and holidays from 10am to 8pm. Entry is free.
