Existing home sales rise unexpectedly in January

The Existing home sales rose 0.6% in January in the US, which generated a positive surprise as a 1.5% drop was expected. In December an advance of 0.9% had been registered (figure revised up from 0.7%). In this way, the annual rate reached 6.69 million (consensus: 6.61 million).
