The Japanese machine-building company Mori Seiki, which specializes in the production of machines, has stopped its business activity in Russia.
Its factory in the city of Ulyanovsk was closed and the company’s 200 employees, as well as its 70 employees in Moscow, were fired. “We had no choice but to wish for peace, but as a company we must follow the rules,” Masahiko Mori, president of the Japanese company, told Asahi Shimbun.
The machines (machines) are subject to international regulations and export controls, because they can be used for the production of weapons, the Japanese newspaper points out.
According to Asahi Shimbun, Mori Seiki became the first large Japanese company to cease operations in Russia after the start of the war.
