The city of Parintins, Land of the Bois Whimsical and Guaranteed recorded an increase in reception of ships in the transatlantic season in the Amazon in 2025.
According to data from the city hall, presented by Mayor Mateus Assayag in a press conference on Thursday (10), the “Island of Magic”, as is known the municipality in the interior of Amazonas, received 13 ships. This represented almost 11,000 foreign tourists.
Among the attractions presented to tourists, besides the oxen-bumbás, are presentations of Amazonian artists. The work resulted in an increase of more than 1.5 million reais in the economy of the municipality.
Carnival events, also themed of Caprichoso and guaranteed, attracted more than 40,000 revelers to the events, including tourists and residents of the city.
National Event Calendar
Parintins is one of the five Amazonian cities (Nhamundá, Humaitá, Novo Airão and Tefé are the others) that has events included in the National Event Calendar of the Ministry of Tourism, being the municipality of Amazonas with the most activities on the list.
In addition to the world -known Parintins festival, the city has 14 other events on the calendar, ranging from Carnailha and Carnaboi, which take place at Carnival, to the city’s New Year’s Eve party.
