Explosion occurred at a chemical plant and refinery in Panshan County, Liaoning Province China (north) yesterday Sunday (15/1) afternoon and resulted in the death of at least two people and the injury of 34 others, while another 12 are still missing, local authorities announced today and state media reported.
The injured, four of whom are in a very serious condition, are being treated in a hospital, according to a statement from county authorities cited by the state-run Xinhua news agency.
Chinese state television reported, as reported by the Athens News Agency, that the fire which broke out after the explosion yesterday at 15:13 (local time; 09:13 Greek time) at factory alkylation plant and refinery, where maintenance work was underway, was brought under control a few hours later.
