Explosion in Crimea: Putin convenes the Security Council on Monday, October 10

Vladimir Putin has decided to convene Russia’s Security Council in the wake of the deadly explosion on the Crimean bridge that left three dead and major infrastructure damage. The council will convene tomorrow, Monday (10/10).

The representative of the Russian president told the TASS agency that “the president will have a meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council tomorrow.”

It is recalled that on Saturday (8/10) Putin signed a decree to strengthen the security of the bridge as well as the infrastructure that supplies electricity and natural gas to Crimea and ordered an investigation to be launched.

In a decree issued hours after the explosion on the bridge, Putin says the FSB security service will step up security measures.

Traffic is blocked on the Kerch bridge in Crimea after yesterday’s explosion of a truck rigged with explosives that claimed the lives of 3 people and destroyed part of the bridge, which is the only connection between Crimea and Russia.

The search for the culprits continues while Russian divers will examine the damage caused today.
