Explosion in The Hague: A sixth body was recovered from the building that collapsed on Saturday

The death toll from the explosion and fire that followed and caused the collapse of a residential building in The Hague today rose to six people, including a teenage girl, Dutch authorities announced. Rescuers managed to retrieve one more body from the ruins in the early hours of this morning, while they fear that they will find other victims from the explosion that occurred early on Saturday. “At approximately 02:30 a.m. a sixth body was located and recovered,” firefighters said. Police have been able to identify four of the victims: two men aged 45 and 31, a 41-year-old woman and a 17-year-old teenage girl. Four more people are still in hospital, two of them in a serious condition. Authorities do not know how many people were in the building at the time of the explosion, so it is difficult to know how many bodies may remain in the rubble.
