Powerful explosions were heard on Wednesday morning (14/12) in its center Kiev according to the mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitaly Klitschko, who spoke of an attack by the Russian armed forces with unmanned kamikaze drones.
“Explosions in the Shevchenkivskiy district. Services (including emergency response) are en route. Details later,” Mr Klitschko said via social networking sites, later clarifying that they were shot down by air defenses Ukrainian ten Iranian-made UAVs in and around Kyiv.
There are no reports of dead or injured yet. According to the mayor, two public administration buildings have been damaged.
According to Mayor Klitschko and as reported by the Athens News Agency drones shot down were Shahed-136.
“People”, Andriy Yermak, adviser to the Ukrainian president, commented on the Telegram platform Volodymyr Zelenskyapparently referring to the Russian military, after the explosions.
