Three projectiles were launched on the Russian Consulate Wall in the Seatsha, southern France, on Monday (24), two of whom exploded, local police said.
The incendiary devices were launched in the consulate gardens, which is in the city with the second largest population in France. Researchers were analyzing the content of the three soda bottles that were used as projectiles.
Kremlin said Russia was pressuring France about security measures after the incident which, according to Moscow, seemed to be an act of terrorism.
Russia demanded a complete investigation from France, state news agency Tass said.
No one was injured, police added. Previously, the consulate’s employees had been kept inside while bombs eliminating agents performed checks.
The incident in the southern city of France took place on the third anniversary of the Ukraine invasion of Russia.
“The explosions in the territory of the Russian Consulate General in Marseille have all the characteristics of a terrorist attack,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, according to Tass.
