Extraordinary meeting of the International Atomic Energy Organization after Israeli attacks on Iran

An extraordinary meeting will be held on Monday by the Board of Directors of the International Atomic Energy Organization (IOEA) following the Israeli attacks on nuclear facilities, diplomats told Reuters and the French Agency. The meeting will take place at 10:00 local time (11:00 in Greece) in Vienna where the Agency is headquartered, as announced today during the meeting of the Board of Directors of the IAEA, according to diplomatic sources. Any country represented on the Board of Directors may convene a meeting in accordance with its rules. Iran, which is not participating in the Council, called for a meeting to be convened and its appeal was supported by council members, Russia, China and Venezuela, diplomats said. Earlier today, the head of the organization, Rafael Grossi, said he was ready to travel to Iran to assess the situation after the extensive military blows launched by Israel and hit the expanding nuclear complex in Natanz.
