ExxonMobil extends fourth-quarter profit, but revenue disappoints

ExxonMobil had net income of US$ 12.75 billion in the fourth quarter of 2022, equivalent to US$ 3.09 per share, according to a balance sheet released on Tuesday (31).

The result is 44% greater than the gain of US$ 8.87 billion (US$ 2.08 per share) that the largest oil company in the USA recorded in the same period of 2021. With adjustments, ExxonMobil had profit per share of US $3.40 for the quarter, above the forecast by analysts polled by FactSet of $3.29.

ExxonMobil’s revenue increased to $95.43 billion in October-December from $84.97 billion in the same period a year earlier, but was below the FactSet consensus of $97.35 billion.

For the full year of 2022, ExxonMobil secured record net income of $55.7 billion.

At around 8:50 am (Brasília time), ExxonMobil shares were down 2.5% in premarket trading in New York.
