September 10, 2023 unknown counterparty paid $510,000 fee for transferring 0.074 BTC for an amount of $200. As it turned out, this mistake was made by Paxos, and the F2Pool mining pool received the commission.
Later Wang Chong held vote with options for how he should deal with the funds, among which were:
- return the entire amount (28.9%);
- freeze assets (19.2%);
- distribute among miners (35.9%);
- return part of the amount (15.9%).
Although the majority of survey participants chose the “distribute among miners” option, the funds were returned to Paxos.
