FAB intercepts plane and PF seizes more than 600 kg of cocaine base paste

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) intercepted, this Sunday (3), a small plane that entered Brazilian airspace without authorization, in Mato Grosso do Sul, and the Federal Police (PF) seized 663 kilograms of cocaine base paste. , in São Paulo.

The action was part of Operation Ostium, which operates on the border.

Two A-29 Super Tucano aircraft were destined for action. Officers questioned the plane’s pilot, but got no response.

Subsequently, a change of route and mandatory landing was ordered, but again they were not met. Then, the authorities fired a detention shot, and thus the aircraft entered Mato Grosso do Sul without authorization and made a forced landing between the cities of Jales and Pontalinda, already in São Paulo.

The Federal Police took over the ground operation, when the two people who were on the aircraft fled. Cocaine-based paste was found at the scene.

“According to the Aerospace Operations Command (Comae), the radars identified the aircraft entering Brazilian airspace. The plane, without contacting the control, failed to comply with all the policing measures carried out, showing itself to be hostile”, explains the FAB.
