FAB plane to rescue Brazilians who fled Ukraine arrives in Poland

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) plane that will rescue Brazilians and family members who fled the war in Ukraine landed in Warsaw, Poland, late this Wednesday morning (9).

The forecast is that the aircraft, model KC-390 Millenium, will return to Brazil this Wednesday, with 70 Brazilians and relatives. Arrival is scheduled for Thursday (10).

11.6 tons of medicines were also sent for emergency care, food and basic necessities for humanitarian aid.

According to the FAB, among the supplies and equipment available, there are 50 water purifiers, of national technology and manufacture, with the capacity to purify around 300,000 liters of water per day; 50 voltaic kits with solar panel to supply energy equipment autonomously; ten tons of highly nutritious dehydrated foods; and five medical emergency medicine kits.

The KC-390 took off on Monday (7), from Brasília airport, and made technical stops in Recife, Cape Verde (Africa) and Lisbon (Portugal).

Poland is the main destination for Brazilians trying to leave Ukraine.
