The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) will present this Friday (6) a preliminary report from the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Cenipa) with information about the crash of the Voepass plane that left 62 dead, on August 9, in Vinhedo (SP).
According to the CNN the report will clarify the events that occurred during the flight. However, the factors that caused the crash of the ATR-72 aircraft will be investigated in a second stage.
The report to be presented this Friday will mark the first release of data on the accident.
The presentation of the document is considered essential for aviation safety, as it may contain items that are relevant to the future operation of the aircraft model, making it possible to mitigate risks, if necessary.
The second phase of the investigation will identify the “contributing factors” that led to the crash. The final report could take up to a year to complete.
In parallel with the FAB investigation, the Civil Police of Vinhedo and the Federal Police (PF) are also conducting their own investigations. The Civil Police investigation seeks to determine the causes of the accident.
Possible criminal liability is also being investigated by the Federal Police. Two reports are considered fundamental to the investigation.
The first report, with a set of photos that help understand the context of the accident and how the aircraft came to rest on the ground, is expected to be ready within 90 days after the accident. This report is being prepared in partnership with Cenipa.
The second document must contain all the examinations and tests carried out at Cenipa, in addition to the analyses of the wreckage, engines and black boxes, which began the week of the accident. Both investigations are under judicial secrecy.
Flight 2283, operated by Voepass, left Cascavel (PR) bound for São Paulo International Airport in Guarulhos. The aircraft crashed in an area of the condominium.
