A Brazilian Air Force (FAB) soldier died this Saturday morning (19), after being shot in the head at the annex of the Ministry of Defense, in Brasília.
The victim was identified as Kauan Jesus da Cunha Duarte, 19 years old, according to the incident report. The suspect, Felipe de Carvalho Sales, was also a FAB soldier and is 19 years old. The Fire Department was triggered, but upon arriving at the scene, the soldier was already dead.
The suspect was arrested and will remain in custody while the investigation into the case continues. The case will be investigated by the Air Force. In a note, the Ministry of Defense regretted the case and stated that it is monitoring the investigation of the facts.
“The Ministry extends condolences to family and friends for the irreparable loss. In this moment of pain, the Defense joins the demonstrations of solidarity and support for the family, as well as accompanying the verification and investigation of the facts, to be conducted by the Air Force.”
