“Actually, I’m the first to be surprised if my project goes well. I admit to being quite pessimistic in life, but this psychological trick of low expectations turns out to be a positive factor. “Yes, at the time I was a youtuber, it was the first music video in which I put my face in that way: my mom would see it, my friends, I was ashamed. I thought it didn’t work, I thought of the million views as a crazy goal ».

“In reality, certain thoughts, like when I get good ideas, keep me awake because they activate the brain: creativity explodes at night and this, especially when I went to live alone at 18, was a problem”.

«Yes, it was essential to regularize them. I realized that a more complete sleep cycle multiplied my productivity: not bad for someone like me who wants to constantly test himself on several fronts ».

“Honestly, I don’t understand the criticisms, those who say it didn’t have to be organized. Amadeus made an absurd effort to put it on, I think it is a great gesture: a kind of gift for all Italians, in a really complicated moment ».

Due to Covid, he lost his grandfather. Then in the summer, when many were expecting a hit, he declared that he had been “swallowed up in total darkness”. How are you today?
“In the last period I have managed to find a balance, both personal and professional. I stopped seeing it as a moment of transition: I believe that the turning point lies in eliminating the idea of ​​returning to normal life in a calculable time. Avoid false hopes and, for now, learn to live with it ».

In the age of distancing, can social media help fight isolation?
“Social media have entered our life, we fall asleep with the smartphone in hand after the classic last scroll. By now they understand our tastes, they know what to show us, they manage to capture attention. But I believe that in the end they are mostly used to watch what others are doing. And this does not interest me: I prefer to do, rather than to see done ».

In fact, he posts very little on his page.
«I behave the opposite of what a social media manager would recommend. Today there is a tendency to shake a character very strongly so that he constantly posts new content: of course, it improves engagement, but I go against any social scheme, I am not looking for an instant stimulus ».

Yet many of its products have gone viral. How do you explain it?
“I go against social networks because I don’t like showing my private life, months can go by without me posting a photo. I also make very long videos with many topics inside, expensive on a mental level. The mechanism of virality, however, is also activated thanks to the music, in the end it is the melody that remains tense and draws you along ».
