Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Maxim Liksutov gave an extensive interview to RIA Novosti. Among other things, he spoke about the development of the Face Pay travel payment project.

According to the official, Face Pay will be launched at all metro stations in Moscow by the end of the year. The Deptrans team has been testing this payment system at several metro stations for several months now. The testing involves employees of the department and service partners, who became participants in test focus groups.
Liksutov emphasized that Face Pay should become another convenient, but not mandatory, service for passengers, and the task of Deptrans is to provide a choice.
Liksutov explained:
We want Moscow to become one of the first in the world to launch a face recognition system for payments in such a massive mode. City transport in Moscow can and is already becoming the most innovative, most convenient, and we will do everything to make passengers feel comfortable. ”
In January, Liksutov said that in the test mode, 2,000 successful passes with payment in the face in the metro have already been completed.
