Facebook announced, this Thursday (21), news for users to access content on the platform. According to a statement published by Mark Zuckerberg, publications from members of the user’s network will be separated from the content recommended by the platform.
In the “feed” tab will be the publications of friends, groups and pages followed, in chronological order. On the “home page”, content will be selected by the Facebook algorithm, according to user preferences – which may include posts from friends or content creators, for example.
According to Zuckerberg, the “feed” tab is a “way to further customize and control the experience”.
Earlier this month, Meta, the company that owns Facebook, announced it would scale back its employee hiring plans, citing a “deep” global economic crisis looming.
“I have to point out that we are in serious times here and the headwinds are fierce. We need to run flawlessly in a slower-growing environment where teams shouldn’t expect massive influxes of new engineers and budgets,” said Chief Product Officer Chris Cox.
The company’s strategy since then is to bet on “more aggressive goals” to achieve results with a leaner team.
