Everything will change: Facebook pages will never be the same again. Starting with the button thanks to which we have followed (and identified) them so far: “I like it” will no longer exist. The Like will disappear to be replaced by the more neutral «Follow“. “Unlike the” Likes “- wrote Facebook giving the announcement – A page’s followers represent people who can receive updates».
A substantial difference in form: to know what a character or an organization does or has to say, it will no longer be necessary to express appreciation.
In this way, in short, a click on a page in the eyes of your “friends” will no longer be identified short as a positive judgment or an affinity of purpose or ideals (especially useful for exponents of the world of politics for example).
The two buttons have lived together for a long time, but in a short time of the “likes” there will be no trace. The change, even if it was officially communicated very recently by Menlo Park, is already active, together to other news designed to make updating and managing pages easier and more effective. For the first time, for example, Pages have a news feed riservato from which to interact also in other conversations, with un double advantage in terms of visibility in the case of verified pages (with double blue check): comments at the top and the possibility of being followed with a click directly from these comments (with the “follow” button that appears at the top right).
Meanwhile, shortly after banning former US President Donald Trump, Menlo Park confirms that he wants to continue on the same line of toughness against fake news and posts that incite violence, with new tools that will help identify users who use the platform with destructive intent more effectively and quickly.
