Today, May 25, 2021, the social network Facebook received a fine in Russia in the total amount of 26 million rubles.

The Magistrate’s Court of the Tagansky District of Moscow found the Facebook administration guilty of committing eight administrative offenses, each of which boils down to refusing to remove content that is banned from distribution in Russia.

Facebook was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for a fine of 800 thousand to 4 million rubles. Thus, the social network could be fined 32 million rubles.

Zulfiya Gurinchuk, press secretary of the Tagansky court, said:

By the rulings of the magistrate of the court district No. 422 of the Tagansky district of Moscow, Facebook was found guilty of committing eight administrative offenses, two of which the organization was fined in the amount of 4 million rubles for each offense, six – a fine of 3 million rubles for each offense. ”

Today, the Moscow Magistrates’ Court also fined Google 6 million rubles for the same reason – refusal to delete prohibited information.
