PSDB
The Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB) will await a technical opinion on the voting application for the internal presidential caucuses before deciding the new date for the election. There was a failure in the voting platform this Sunday (21), which prevented the definition of the toucan candidate for the presidency of the Republic next year. The caucuses were paralyzed and party leaders meet this Monday (21) to address the issue.
Hamilton Mourao
The vice president of Brazil, General Hamilton Mourão, is expected to run in the 2022 elections for the government of Rio de Janeiro, by the Partido Renovador Trabalhista Brasileiro (PRTB). The information was confirmed to CNN by the president of the legend in the state, Antônio Carlos Santos.
Enem
According to the Ministry of Education, of the 3.1 million enrolled in the National Secondary Education Examination (Enem), 26% did not take the first test. The federal government celebrated the fact that the abstention was close to the rates of previous years.
Covid-19 in Rio
The Municipal Health Department of Rio de Janeiro reported this Sunday (21) that the state capital did not record any deaths from Covid-19 in 24 hours. It is the first time this has happened since March 2020, the month in which the pandemic was enacted.
Elections in Chile
The second round of Chile’s presidential election will be disputed between the far-right candidate, José Antonio Kast, and the left-wing candidate, Gabriel Boric. Voting is scheduled for December 19. This Sunday (21), Kast had a small advantage over his opponent, in the first round dispute.
