President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) said again this Thursday (8th) that he may fail to comply with decisions of the Federal Supreme Court. According to him, this “is not an affront”.
During an event with businessmen in Rio de Janeiro, the president once again criticized the decision of the TSE that impeached deputy Fernando Francischini, accused of spreading fake news about the 2018 elections. Marques that annulled the loss of Francischini’s mandate.
Bolsonaro also repeated the criticism he made to the president of the TSE, Luiz Edson Fachin, for having met with ambassadors to discuss the security of the elections.
“Supreme decision is carried out, is it not questioned? I am the captain. What do I do? I will not comply. This is no affront. I never saw Alexandre de Moraes buy bread. They live persecuting, arresting federal deputy. Canceling the mandate of deputy. The current president of the TSE was the one who took Lula out of jail. Fachin met with ambassadors. What did he do? He accused me. He asked to acknowledge the result. All that was left was to say something, that the one elected will be Lula. We all want clean and transparent elections.”
CNN contacted ministers Fachin and Alexandre de Moraes and is awaiting a return.
The president also refuted accusations of corruption in the government. Bolsonaro said he was setting an example for the population.
“We have a government of three and a half years without corruption. If there is, I’ll investigate. It can happen,” she said.
And he talked about spending on the Presidency’s corporate card. “’Spent BRL 3 million on the corporate card’, I did. I have spent on security. I could have asked for retirement in the Chamber, I didn’t ask to set an example. I’m doing everything I can to get to a good place. What should we leave for Brazil? A better country. Yesterday they ordered me to pay R$ 100 thousand reais to the press for attacking the press. So they must pay BRL 1 million.”
