Agents from the 15th Battalion (Caxias) arrested a fake occupational therapist in the act last Monday (16), in Duque de Caxias. The case was registered at the 59th DP.
The investigation began after a series of complaints made against the professional. The Regional Physiotherapy Council (Crefito) raised information that, in Rio de Janeiro, cases involving fake occupational therapists have increased in the last year.
The fake occupational therapist was arrested, in the act, during a consultation. According to the Military Police, it was her first day at a clinic specializing in caring for autistic children.
At the scene, the police realized that she was using a fake degree diploma and a Minas Gerais registration number, which did not exist. It is worth mentioning that, when asked about the veracity of the documents, she did not respond. The Police reported that she will be charged with illegal exercise of her profession, falsification of public and private documents, and embezzlement.
