Famous chef became furious with vegans and slammed the door on his restaurant – “They can go c…”

A top chef “banned” the entry of vegans in his restaurant and it all started with a dispute over a meal. THE chef John Mountain wrote on social media on Tuesday that people who do not eat meat and other animal products will not be served at his Fyre restaurant in Connolly in Perth’s north.

“Unfortunately, all vegans are now banned from Fyre (for mental health reasons),” it said. “Thank you for your understanding.”

The ban reportedly came after an argument with a customer over the vegan options at the restaurant, with Mountain getting angry and going so far as to kick down the door. “C…vegetarians seriously…I’m done. At the end of the day, that’s not what I want to do, they can go c…,” he said.

The celebrity chef said the dispute began when a young woman contacted him before visiting the restaurant to ask about vegan choices. “That was my only shortcoming … I said I would serve her, I said we have gnocchi, vegetables … and that was it,” he told The West Australian newspaper.

However, the chef said he had “unfortunately forgotten” the young woman’s request until her reservation arrived, saying he had a “private party” to cater for that evening.

The young woman then complained to the assistant chef and to him the next day about the lack of vegan options.

“My only choice was the veggie plate…it was ok but not that filling…and I was shocked to see it cost $32”, he wrote in the complaint sent by the woman. “I think it’s incredibly important these days that restaurants can serve everyone and not being able to have real vegetarian meals shows your shortcomings as a chef».

“I hope to see some improvements to your menu as I have lived in Connolly for quite some time and have seen many restaurants come and go from this building and none of them stayed. If you don’t keep up with the times, I don’t have confidence that your restaurant will be the one to make it.”

The chef retaliated against the woman before deciding the ban. “Thank you for your negative review… please feel free to share your sk… experience and I look forward to seeing you again,” she said in the message.

“How childish. You and all your vegan friends can go and enjoy your dishes elsewhere. You are now denied entry.”

The chef said that part of her complaint was justified, but the woman shrugged it off. “Look, I said I’d serve her, and I didn’t… but she made the complaint personal.”

The result of all this was Fyre getting one-star reviews, which, Mountain said, “really hurts the business.” Mountain has also received a lot of support from meat eaters, with many who have not visited the restaurant awarding it five stars.
