A fan detached from the ceiling of tunnel 2 of Rodoanel Mario Covas, at km 11 of SP-021, in Barueri, on Friday afternoon (26). The equipment did not hit any vehicle, but it caused a collision, which left three people injured.
The Transport Agency of the State of São Paulo (ARTESP) reported that, at around 1:26 pm, a vehicle collided with the object on the road and there was a rear collision between another vehicle and a motorcycle.
CCR RodoAnel, the concessionaire responsible for managing the highway, said that among the victims, one person had moderate injuries and the other two had minor injuries. All victims were rescued and taken to hospital.
According to ARTESP, the left lanes (1 and 2) were temporarily closed and were reopened at 2:25 pm. The teams from CCR RodoAnel and the Military Highway Police (PMRv) were called to respond to the incident.
In a statement, the concessionaire said that the causes of the fan failure are being investigated.
