Farewell to Lisa Loring, the original Wednesday Addams

Yesterday her family made the difficult decision to remove it and she passed away last night.’ What made Lisa Loring famous all over the world, we said, was the character of Wednesday Addams recently made a comeback thanks to the new Netflix series starring Jenna Ortega: Loring’s was the very first live-action adaptation of the cartoons of the New Yorker by Charles Addams. When she embraced the character Lisa she was only 6 years old, and she played it for two seasons – from 1964 to 1966 – for a total of 64 episodes.

Her friend Jacobson writes of her: «Beautiful, kind, a loving mother: Lisa’s legacy in show business is enormous as is the legacy to her family and friends: a wealth of humor, affection and love that will invade our memories for a long time». Like her character, Lisa Loring was sweet and dark at the same time, not to mention that the actress had agreed to play Wednesday Addams again for a new television movie released in 1977 on the occasion of the Halloween party . Loring has been married four times – to the first, Farrell Foumberg, she swore eternal love at just 15 years old – and gave birth to two daughters, Marianne and Vanessa, who in turn gave her two grandchildren, Emiliana and Charles. Lisa Loring was born as Lisa Ann DeCinces in the Marshall Islands, and lived in Hawaii before coming to Los Angeles with her mother after her parents’ divorce and first attempting a career as a model and then as an actress crowned thanks to her Addams family. With his death, Gomez face John Astin is now the last living member of the sitcom’s original cast.
