Farm finalizes proposal to correct the Income Tax table

The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, said, in a meeting with members of the PT this Monday (13), that the Income Tax adjustment project is already ready and they depend only on “political adjustments” by the Planalto. The minister’s speech was made at an event commemorating the anniversary of the PT.

The change would only be exemption from Income Tax for those who earn up to two minimum wages. The change is still far from the president’s campaign proposal, which proposed exemption from income tax for those earning up to five salaries.

According to sources interviewed by the CNN who participated in the meeting, Haddad said that the text is almost ready and depends on political adjustments that will now be discussed by the Planalto Palace in the coming days.

Another proposal that is ready, according to the minister, is the “Desenrola” program, which aims to reduce the indebtedness of Brazilians.

According to the investigation of CNN , in addition to the aforementioned projects, Haddad highlighted the importance of congressional approval of the changes that the ministry promoted in CARF (Administrative Council of Fiscal Resources). In January, the government published a Provisional Measure that returned with the “casting vote” in the Council, which always decides in favor of the Treasury, in case of a tie in processes.

The minister did not speak about specific points of the MP that may be subject to negotiation with Congress, according to sources heard by the CNN . However, in the presence of several PT parliamentarians, Haddad reinforced the need to approve the Measure, citing the financial “breath” that the government would have.
