Tension prevails at Brussels with the Belgians farmers to have taken the tractors out into the streets of the city, in order to protest the common agricultural policy decided by the European Union.
According to ERT, the farmers trying to reach the Commission buildingthe police barriers were broken, resulting in great tension.
The farmers seem determined to march up to the building and say they are “angry”.
“Agriculture. As a child you dream of her, as an adult you die of her” shouted the farmers, while they tried to set fire to tires a few meters away from the European Council building.
The police, for their part, brought water cannons to the scene before the piles of tires caught fire.

It is worth noting that earlier this month, incidents took place in a similar demonstration with farmers setting hay bales on fire, while throwing eggs and firecrackers at heavy police forces, during a summit of EU leaders.
